Belvoir Tree Autumn, Up Close by Gerard1972 Belvoir Tree Autumn, Up Close by Gerard1972
Another view of this tree in Belvoir Forest Park Belfast, which I have photographed on many occasions. This time the vantage point is from low down in the gulley behind the tree, looking upwards.

I love the shape of this tree, and the bark has so much character - not to mention some characters in it, in the shape of a few names carved.

A re-worked version is here:

This is nice, I really like the angle which you choose to shot this at.

A few things have caught my eye though on this, mainly the luminosity of the sky, behind the leaves, it seems almost flat in a sense, dull if you will, I have that happen now and then as well when I do HDR shots, and generally, a levels and curves adjustment tends to help that.

The color is very nice, a tad unbalanced in areas, but I can deal mostly with that. It certainly is sharpened wonderfully.

Have you thought about a B&W of this at all?

Thanks :) I do like this shot a lot. I think this tree looks great from a few different angles.

If I could change anything, I would maybe have the leaves with a bit more red than yellow (and I'd remove that twig from the foreground too). Perhaps next autumn...

I think it's perfect the way it is. It's like a dream... Real and unreal at the same time.
