Description
The Giant's Ring in Belfast, Northern Ireland is an ancient henge. Situated near Shaw's Bridge, south of the city, the standing stone monument is surrounded by a circular earth bank, 200 metres in diameter and 4 metres high.
On an evening in August, the light is fading as the sun sets on a fine summer day. In the background is the near circular-looking tree which features in many of my shots of the henge.
I have warmed the sky colours up a little in post processing.

This is beautiful. Great balance of the henge and the tree. I didn't get to visit this henge when I was in Northern Ireland last month. I did make it to Carrowmore, but haven't posted any pic of it up yet! Didn't have a lot of time to get the "right" shot - that's what I get for traveling with a group that doesn't have the same interests as me! I also visited a site in Scotland - Clava Cairn that was pretty amazing too...probably because I hiked to it from Culloden and had then entire site to myself!
