This is a reworking of Lagan Rainbow II, this time using DxO Optics on a single exposure.
The double rainbow reflects in the River Lagan near Belfast, Northern Ireland.
I was quite pleased with how the sky turned out in this version (I'm not sure where the red tinges in the clouds came from!). Perhaps it looks a bit un-natural, but I like the end result.
The original shot was rather dark and grainy, which leaves this image looking a bit more like a painting perhaps than a detailed photograph.
Simply stunning shot. You got lucky, having the opportunity to shoot both a beautiful sunset, and a rainbow at the same time with all the elements working in your favor. The rainbow just happened to be in the right location, at the right time and you were able to snap it into this amazing shot. Rainbows and sunsets are both very fleeting events, and neither one tends to last very long. It is often a rare opportunity even with planning to capture even a nice sunset that is just right, with all of the elements involved being lined up just perfectly. One of the best parts of this photograph in my opinion, is the beautiful reflection that is cast into the stream, it adds much to this shot. You have successfully done a very tasty job at capturing two of some of the most difficult things to capture in nature. You had the eye to line everything up where it has had a very fitting appearance. Very well done.
