On a misty morning in January 2010, below a clear sky, the Belfast mountains are wrapped in a layer of mist and fog. Near the Giant's Ring, a lone tree sits in the middle of this field, in contast to some former trees - the telegraph poles! The tree fits just below the top line of the mist cloud.

Power lines are usually to be avoided in landscapes, but there wasn't a lot I could do here to disguise them. The power lines give some sense of perspective as well as breaking up the large sky area. The curves are sort of mirrored by the curves of the ploughed field.

Hey Gerard, where was this taken? Nice composition :)Is that the Divis transmitter I see sticking out of the clouds?
