Reflections at Drum Bridge 11by *Gerard1972

Reflections in the River Lagan at Drum Bridge in South Belfast, Northern Ireland, late on an autumn afternoon.

I have photographed this scene many times, as I like the shape of these trees. On a fine, calm afternoon, the water is quite still and the reflections are very clear.

Here I have placed the main tree centrally as it is quite symetrical in shape, and also to include some of the stone bridge. It looks like the river and bank have been recently cleared up a little around the bridge.

In this scene I was drawn to the warm afternoon light and the greens and yellows of the foliage as it starts to turn to autumn.

Fantastic shot, I love reflection shots myself and take a lot of them too. Such a beautiful landscape I didn't know anything like this existed in Belfast, is it far from the City?

Hmm... Really good picture, but it is something I don't like about it. I love the reflections in the water, I love the bridge, and I love the trees. I think it is the combination of all those three that makes me think it's something wrong. You've put to many things in the same picture. I would love a picture with just the bridge, just the reflection, or with just the trees; a close up image of something. It can be compared to taking pictures of a whole bouquet of flowers instead of a close up picture of one with the others in the background. Sure, people can think the picture of a complete bouquet is more beautiful, but I like close ups more.

Please don't take this as negative feedback, take it as constructive feedback. I sure like the picture, and it's better then most of my pics, but I just think that it could have been improved a lot.
