Description
Scrabo Tower is a well known landmark, standing over the town of Newtownards in Northern Ireland, close to Strangford Lough.
It was built in 1857, and spectacular views, reaching as far as Scotland, are available from the top of the tower.
The area has been designated as Special Scientific Interest, due to the unusual geology.
