Shaw's Bridge in Belfast, on a November morning in 2007. The rising sun catches the mist on the surface of the river.

The stone bridge was built in 1709 and is 300 years old this year.

This is one of my personal favourites. I have been to Shaw's Bridge on numerous occasions and I have never been able to recapture a scene like this.

That is beautiful.

We've traveled to Northern Ireland many times, but have only been to the bridge once or twice. My mother has done a painting of it. Her maiden name is Shaw.

Hi Jonny. Thanks very much :-) I've never seen Shaw's Bridge as good since. I think I got lucky that day. I'm up in Finaghy, so it's nearly on my doorstep, along with Belvoir Forest.

Yes, this is HDR, though I try not to make it too obvious :-) I see you're also doing some HDR. Your own gallery is excellent... you've got some awesome photos!

Thanks so much, yeah I love HDR but I do go over the top with it, I cant help my self. Must learn some control :)

HDR is fantastic. But it's easy to go overboard with it, you really have to restrain the saturation. Less is more ;-) I try to make things look like how I remember them.

I'm trying to learn about "Lab colour" at the moment. Apparently you can do some amazing things with it.
