Description

Minnowburn Beeches in South Belfast, Northern Ireland, is one of my favourite beauty spots. Near the river Lagan, this country stream is crossed by a picturesque old stone bridge.

Minnowburn is at its best in the autumn, especially on a sunny morning like this. Here, the light is shining through the foliage of the trees in the background, making them almost glow.

In the foreground, the warm foliage colours are reflected in the stream. The water level is quite high at the moment, due to recent rainfall.

This is one of my personal favourite shots, and is a re-working of [link] .

I absolutely adore this shot! The setting is just incredible. I love the colours and how they all work so harmoniously to create a really serene atmosphere, which really emphasises the beauty of the scene. The image quality is also impeccable. Every little detail is so clear - every blade of grass, every brick on the bridge, every leaf on the trees, the ripples on the water, and the rubble on the bank.
My only criticism is that after looking at the original image, I think this re-working lost a bit of its vibrancy, which I liked in the original. However that only really stems from my personal love of bright colours, and it certainly doesn't take anything away from the natural beauty of this image.
Overall, an incredible shot and worthy of much praise!
