Description

The Silent Valley Resevoir in County Down, Northern Ireland. This resevoir, which was built in the 1920s, supplies water to much of south east Northern Ireland, including Belfast.

In the foreground, looks like a massive plughole, is no doubt there as an overflow pipe, should the resevoir fill up too much.

This honestly is just a heck of a shot and it really shows your HDR skills wonderfully, the clouds and sky in this are just amazing!

At first I thought the shot was crooked, but it is an optical illusion that is causing that, the shoreline in the foreground and the angle it shows does that, when you look at the waterline it is straight.

Atmosphere in this is great, I don't know if I would used an ultra wide lens for this shot myself, it almost works against the composition in this shot as a whole, you show the damn but then the (I don't know what it's called as we don't have them here, the hole) is cut off, I would try to get the complete structure in next time, when not, maybe leave it out entirely.

A great capture overall, and one you should be proud of
