The Giant's Field by Gerard1972 The Giant's Field by Gerard1972
This field is beside the Giant's Ring in Belfast. It probably isn't really called the Giant's Field, but it's a catchy title :)

I rather liked the texture of the furrows as the low sunlight cast shadows across the surface of the field.

I'm not sure where the pile of stones came from, whether someone is intending to build a wall, or someone just demolished one. In the foreground unfortunately are some empty tins of beer, a good sign I shouldn't hang around for long.

(Reworked from scratch - 9 August.)

Hello! :aww:
I'm making a 3-Dimensional artwork and I've just found this incredible photo of yours, which would fit perfectly to what I'm doing. So, I wonder if you could let me use this amazing photo as the background to my scene. Of course I'll put your name in the credits :thanks:

Thank you for reading this

The Giant's Field is a perfect title. The branches of the tree look like giant fingers waiting to pick up the first disturbance the the land. :)

Nice shot mate! A refreshingly different view of Belfast. I grew up in North Belfast and visited the Giant's Ring on a couple of occasions. This is a great reminder that Belfast and Northern Ireland in general can be a beautiful place if only we'd take the time to look and appreciate it.

Oh wow - what a lovely picture - evocative of landscape and legend even though the ploughing is clearly of modern and very scientific standards ! great work - really enjoyed it

Congrats on the DD. Doubt that the composition would work half so well without those stones, lit the way they are. Also, I'm in two minds about that plant in bottom right corner - a little distracting? Really like how you've processed this though, and the tremendous depth the whole image has got. :) And, of course, the light!! :D

The rocks you know come out of the ground when they plow. They get heaved up by frost every year. By the way the picture is beautiful. I love the country, feels like I'm home.

Could you explain me how it could be that you can choose landscape-dd's without having references in landscape-photography? Please don't unterstand me wrong - just a question.

Best Wishes, emats :)
